Here are some patterns I created for a packaging project I did.

My goal here was to create four kaleidoscope inspired patterns which reflects for kinds of feelings:

A - Passion and desire. Sex and lust. Raw and physical.

B - Perfect, sublime love. An interior emotion.

C - Excitement and fear. Adrenaline, exhilaration and thrill.

D - Elegant and dignified. Stormy yet still.

I’ve renamed these into Lust, Enchantment, Adrenaline and Tranquility.

To reflect each theme I utilized different shapes and colors.

For lust i created bright vivid colors to reflect passionate and strong desires. The shapes I used were very fluid and flowy to represent movement.

For Enchantment I used colors inspired by spring because I found that spring’s refreshing beautiful and lively qualities reflect that of a perfect love. The shapes I used here were flower petal shapes, leaves and circles to represent a perfect unity.

For Adrenaline, I was inspired by night time adventures. The dark blue represents the night sky whereas the bright colors represent excitement. Shapes I used here were triangles, diamonds and edgy lines with sharp corners. This sharpness is used to symbolize the thrill, excitement and fear aspect.

Lastly, for tranquility I used very basic geometric shapes and calm colors. This is to represent the subtle beauty of elegance, I find that elegant things are sort of like a hidden kind of beauty. Although these shapes are simple they are also be quite elegant because they are the basis of many other shapes.
